Amazing Sushi Art by Takayo Kiyoto

Takayo Kiyoto (content warning: erotic sushi—yes, I’m serious) is a sushi artist and illustrator in Tokyo. She shapes and paints over sushi to create astonishing images of people, animals, and characters. She also recreates famous works of art, such as Sandro Botticelli’s Birth of Venus.

Kiyoto’s use of color is astonishing. Her sliced rice brings out the visual pop in, especially, the works of Vincent Van Gogh.

Given time and patience, Kiyoto can create enormous pieces of edible art, such as this celebration of the Year of the Dragon, which is the present year.
