Oh look, how cute! A teapot made of corrugated cardboard! But looks can be deceiving. these pots are an illusion by French ceramics artist Jacques Monneraud. Believe it or not, these pots are all ceramic, they are just fashioned to resemble cardboard held together with Scotch tape.
One can imagine the exacting work that went into each piece. The "cardboard" is fired clay, and the tape is the only part that is glazed. Each piece will hold water, but they are art objects and should be considered too fragile for everyday use. The series is called the CARTON collection, and they are all sold out. You can see more of them, and Monneraud's other ceramics, at Instagram. -via Kottke ā
