Karen Akhikyan's Wire Sculptures are Poetry in Motion

Armenian artist Karen Akhikyan began his career with oil paintings, then leaned into batik art, and for the last 15 years he's been making wire sculptures. He takes a nearly one-dimensional media -wire- and creates human figures that are abstract yet highly individual. They have no features nor fashions, but express movement and emotion in their basic forms. See a selection of Akhikyan's dynamic wire figures at My Modern Met or at Instagram
