Color us impressed: Sri Lankan "micro" artist Loku Liyanage Dayananda of Daya Micro Art carved these knots out of pencil leads. You can see two types that Dayananda carved in the pic above: a single and a double knot.
According to his Facebook page, the artist carved these pencils a couple of years ago and kept them as part of his collection. He used a craft knife, a magnifier and a microscope to carve the graphite pencil.
