Miniature Macabre Dioramas by Blacklillybee

Colossal introduces us to the amazing art of Instagram user Annie, who goes by the sticky pseudonym of Blacklillybee. She makes miniatures that are astonishingly creatively conceived and precisely rendered. Many of them, such as this coffin, have a gothic nature.

Inside this tiny coffin is a family of five ghosts who enjoy a tastefully-decorated home, complete with a garden, a kitchen, and even family portraits hanging on the walls.

Many of these dioramas have an Old West theme, but a motif more reminiscent of a ghost town than a thriving frontier village. Each building, including this saloon, is haunted by the living and the dead.

I suspect the tree in this diorama is alive, since it has a face. But it's possible that the house, which is roofed with a wizard's hat, may be sentient, too.

It's especially helpful when Blacklillybee's hands are present in the photos. You get a true sense of the scale of these little worlds which contain stories of supernatural encounters, like a meeting between a girl and a black octopus on a coral-filled island.
