I am, of course, speaking figuratively – I think. There’s no reason to conclude that Jackson Shaner’s sculptured pots really do have damned souls inside trapped in eternal torment yet still serving decorative purposes in the homes of the most unholy of necromancers. They just look like they do.
Still, I think that his pots are either dangerous to possess (because they are possessed) or the perfect gift for friends with really dark senses of humor.
Shaner calls this series of works “escape jars”. But can a lost spirit actually escape from the enchantment? If it does, will it ever be sane again?
