It’s something of a Platonic form of art—or cow manure—since this fine painting of a cow is made with real cow manure.
A Bavarian travel website introduces us to Werner Härtl, an artist who uses the splendors of southern Germany to depict the splendors of southern Germany. He’s a creative guy, having experimented with graffiti art and rap music before turning to cow manure.
Härtl works part-time as a farm helper, which is how he discovered that cow manure sticks to a canvas easily in just the right amounts to express an image precisely.
He likes to sketch an image on an iPad or paper, which he then projects onto a canvas on which he delicately brushes cow poop.
And Härtl's bovine collaborators appear to appreciate his efforts.
