TABBY: How Stencil Street Art is Done

Street art can be so self-referential as to be funny. But you can't argue that this stencil work isn't well-done. This is a recent installation from TABBY, a Viennese artist who's left street art all over the world. His works are mostly political, but often drift into the whimsical, and the combination draws your attention so you have to think about the real meaning behind it. The painting above, which can be seen in Hamburg, Germany, isn't so political as it is self-deprecating, but what's neat is that it comes with a video showing how it was done.

As you can see, the real work is in the intricate preparation, and who knows how long that took. Yes, people have compared TABBY to Banksy, and he replied, "Im not like Banksy at all, I dont have that lovely British accent."
