British artist and biologist Victoria Rose Richards took up embroidery as a new hobby, and was inspired by the lush landscapes of South West Devon. Her embroidery work includes aerial views of forests, cultivated fields, and painstakingly designed gardens. The miniature monochrome cloudscape above was part of an art giveaway. Below we see the Monongahela River.
Not all her works are aerial views. Richards' landscapes capture the magic of a moment. This one is described as "A thunder and lightning storm over golden wheat meadows stretching into the distance…"
